History might be full of lies.. 🫢

What if history was full of lies? What if the history we know was modified. Even the news we get today are biased and falsified by the powerful and wealthy ones, does this not beg the question if history was influenced by power and money? I certainly believe it does.

What if the history books we read, were written by a biased author back in time where the author ended up pouring his perspective of the event only. And then, the book became bestselling later on, people loved it and then that's what they believe happened in the past. But what if there was someone who couldn't read and write was made a villain, or what if his/her side of the story were buried with them or burnt.

What if the villains in history were portrayed as a villain, but were actually fighting for the good? well, I don't know but that most certainly can be the case, not all but definitely some of them.

But ig, the internet helps reduce this spread of single side of the story. Since internet and a device connected to internet are ubiquitous these days, it provides a platform for both the party to share their side of the story, and people can hear both, and decide for themselves. Well, this too might not work sometimes because of all the censorship (to fight which Elon Musk remade X social media BTW), but as far as I've seen, it is better compared to what the information flow was before the internet.

The Belief Code 🌱

Some believe that once you grow older, pursuing higher education is no longer an option, while others prove otherwise. I believe it all comes down to one's belief. The beliefs instilled in us depends on our upbringing. The society, the people around us. Someone raised in Silicon Valley might have a different perspective of what's possible compared to someone from a third world country. I think the superpower is realizing, that the beliefs can be changed.

The predefined beliefs we grow up with are just bloatware in our system. Just like in Computer Systems, some of them are easy to uninstall while others are not very straight-forward (uninstalling Instagram vs uninstalling Edge), but they sure are removable. It's a matter of effort. If we continue with the same beliefs as everyone else, then we will be yet another replica of "everyone else".
"If you change nothing, nothing changes." This is something to remember.

Creativity Powerhouse 🧠

I am into something serious right now and there is mostly one stuff that makes it harder to achieve what I want. I am not going to name exactly what it is, but it's something important to me. This thing haunted me and I was spending so much of my time on that particular thing. Every time I get free, that thought comes up and I start thinking about it. But, interesting thing to note is that I never got most of my answer to it while I was actually doing something like say: looking at other's people on how they managed to do it, rather I got the answer while I was in the shower, I got it today when I was still lying in bed.

And honestly, those solutions were very creative and better than what I had with me. I dug into it further and found that it is actually a phenomenon. We get good ideas while we are doing mundane tasks and that is because we do not have to focus too much while doing those daily chores. When you obsess over a thought too much, your subconscious mind, which knows no limits and is creative powerhouse, starts to think about it even when you're asleep or doing other tasks. And when it gets the idea, it sends you just that and you get your Eureka! moment. This mostly happens while doing boring everyday stuffs.

Lesson: take one problem, obsess over thinking how to solve that problem ( so much so that eat while thinking about it, sleep while doing so ), execute.

Execution is important, depending upon the problem execution is different. In my case, I wrote it down right away as I might forget that later on.

Getting Lucky. 🌠

Luck plays a huge role for doing great things in life they say, I partially agree. Everyone is lucky to some extent. If you weren't lucky, you wouldn't even be born. You are lucky to have survived countless potential ways one could possibly die. There are many such factors to prove how lucky we are. One thing to note is that you don't always get lucky. Sometimes others get the chance, you just have to keep working again and again until it's your turn to get lucky. You may not be lucky for the first time but if you keep going one day you will most definitely be lucky. That's why I believe that one can "BE" lucky. Also, you just need to be lucky to do great things, not extremely lucky.

Another thing to note is that luck only works when you take action. Imagine you are a salesman and you have to negotiate a deal which if closed, will make you a millionaire. Now you can't be lying on your bed and hoping that your luck will make your clients reach out to you and you close the deal. Nope, you need to be extremely lucky for that which is extremely rare. What I mean by this is you need to put in the effort for the luck to work. Think of a genie lamp, the genie won't come out and fulfill your wish unless you rub the lamp a few times. The rubbing here is equivalent to putting effort towards your work.

Mathematically, luck = f(action) | luck is the function of action, meaning: more action = more luck.

Music and Focus 🎯

Question: Does listening to music improves your focus? Any music?

I always wondered if listening to music while doing things make me productive or is it otherwise. Today I will try figuring it out. As I learn I will be writing here.

1st Note: According to a peer-reviewed study out of the University of Chicago, "A moderate level of ambient noise is conducive to creative cognition. Source: Here

2nd Note: Anything that sounds like a voice or literally is a voice is going to distract you. Source: Reddit

3rd Note: Music affects how we feel, what we think, and how productive we are. Listening to music occasionally helps the brain grow and improves our health Binaural beats, white noise, and personalized auditory inputs can help you do your work better. Source: Here

4th Note: Binaural beats are assumed to entrain neural oscillations and support cognitive function. Pure tones of 420 Hz and 460 Hz presented to the left and right ear, respectively, were perceived as a 40-Hz BB with a 440 Hz fundamental tone. Source: Here

5th Note: Music may be distracting to some people, especially when it is loud or contains lyrics.  listening to pop music while carrying out a reading task reduced performance in introverts but not extroverts. So, personality may play a role, as well as the type of music. People may have to divide their attention between the background music and what they are trying to learn. People may require extra cognitive effort to listen to music and learn, which may negatively impact studying. Whether music helps people or not may depend on the individual, as well as the type of music, volume, and tempo. Source: Here

After going through some sites on the internet and skimming through research articles, for most of the people listening to music with low volume and no lyrics improves focus overall by synchronizing brainwaves. 40Hz maybe suitable for many people because it lies within the gamma frequency range of brainwaves which are associated with higher cognitive processes such as memory, attention, and problem-solving. ( different brainwaves [alpha, beta, delta, etc.] dominates according to our action. ex: when we are in deep sleep, delta waves dominates). Music with voice can distract as our brain processes the lyrics which will interfere with the task you are working on. However, according to peer-reviewed study from the University of Chicago research light noise is actually beneficial. Ambient sound like coffee shop noises with low volume seemed to work well for me. You can get the sound Here.

A thing to note is, each humans are different and the reason is that not all have same experiences, not all have the same childhood. No research paper mentioned that 100% of the people who listened to Binaural beats had some noticeable effects. Hence, the vital thing is to know how your body responds to music. Try experimenting with different music ( ex: Instrumental, Binaural Beats, Soft, etc. ) while doing some works and next day try doing the same thing again with different music or without any music and compare the results based on how much you accomplished with different types of music or without any music. I
will do this experiment and share the results, that will be for tomorrow since it's 11:48 PM already.

Inspirations. 🦸

PEOPLE WHO SERVE AS AN INSPIRATION TO ME AND WHAT I LEARNED FROM THEM.

Steve Jobs - Made me fathom the power of innovation and also I am a big fan of how he lived his life.

Elon Musk - Gave a new perspective to thinking, his grit and passion towards making world a better place to live in for humans is very commendable. He also taught me to not be afraid of dreaming and doing big.

Edwin Land - The guy's a legend. Inventor of polaroid, loved the process of building, business was second.

Larry Ellison - He is a badass, and I love how he is obsessed with winning.

Dick Fosbury - Instead of letting himself down on something he was bad at, he actually invented a new way of doing that and now it's the most popular method for high jumps. Very inspiring.
